Lorraine "Rainey" Massie is a professional artist with vivid unique ideas, a flair for creativity, fun vibes and authentic kindness. Rainey's art career, after a hiatus, began again in 2005, when she learned of a child who did not like her dark brown skin or facial features. The first original painting offered was a character named Zora, which was inspired by that young child. The child who had a darker brown skin tone, felt alone and wanted to fit in with her peers in her classes at elementary school. Desiring a different eye color, she was also unsure of her hair texture and cried to have a lighter skin tone. Lacking in self esteem and grace, she didn't see her own beauty. To her, beauty, popularity, intelligence and happiness were associated with those who had a lighter skin tone.  Knowing that the painting was inspired because of her - emotionally, she understood the message from Rainey and had a heartfelt conversation in accepting differences in beauty, courage and self love. A vibe in any room, Rainey encourages others to love themselves and to find their way in life, stating, "you must know that what-ever you have on your to-do list or the many roads you travel during your journey to reach your goals, always remember that you are "worthy" of great things and blessings. We all should promote others willingly, support and guide them. When you love yourself, walk in gratitude and kindness - in this critical world of racism, greed, jealousy and bullying - you will always be blessed." Regardless of the message you interpret from Rainey's art, each piece has a heart hidden in the images. An advocate for Domestic abuse and stroke awareness, fans have placed her name in places that only TIME and the GRACE of God would allow. Surviving a broken neck and two strokes, Rainey's story is emotional and the perfect definition of DETERMINATION. Rainey's hobbies include "Home Goods" shopping, enjoying music (DC go-go), shoe shopping and collecting heart paperweights.
